Bell Ringing On My UK Apple Store Tour!

I HAVE A NEW WEBSITE WHERE MY BLOG WILL NOW LIVE

IT'S A LOT MORE SLICKER!

LOOK FORWARD TO YOU VISITING

As part of my UK tour visiting every Apple Store I think it will be fun to try out some activities I wouldn't ever think about undertaking.

I received an offer from someone near Southampton asking if I wanted to do some bell ringing. Yes bell ringing! It's not every day you get such an offer!

The nice people at Romsey Abbey have invited me to visit and have given me the opportunity to climb the tower, which is not normally accessible to the general public!

Apparently the vicar is a big iphone fan and is looking forward to me visiting. As some of you will know in the early days of me working at app studio MEDL Mobile I was responsible for trying to promote a religious iphone app called Note To God. It will be interesting to hear his thoughts on how technology is changing the way people communicate with higher powers!

They have even offered to try and sort out a nights accommodation and feed me which is splendid of them, but I draw the line of sleeping in a graveyard! I'm not a big fan of ghosts.

Things are starting to come together, but there is so much more I need to organise. Its not easy trying to plan a tour around the UK, without having any funds to pay for it. Relying on social media and people to help me out is very challenging.

It's going to be epic!

IT'S A LOT MORE SLICKER!

LOOK FORWARD TO YOU VISITING

You guys should know by by now I have a huge passion for social media.

So I've got an idea.

Beginning tomorrow I will be tweeting my entire book Bin There Done That about how I became involved in the world of iPhone apps culminating in camping for an insane 10 nights for an iPhone 4s and the reasons for it from start to finish.

How will this work?

I'm aiming to tweet three sentences a day or as much as I can include in my 142 character limits!

Let's see how this goes and whether my social media efforts can propel my book to the top of the Apple iBooks charts!

And if you are intrigued and want to take a closer look at the book click here for the iBooks version.

And to read my book one tweet at a time remember to follow me @shoesmith81 and follow the #robshoe tag.

I had a rather interesting email from a company in Southampton today. I don't know why, but it seems like people in Southampton and Norwich have been most helpful in my quest to tour the UK having my pic taken outside every Apple Store.

It's been a hectic day planning for a launch of a major new iPhone app and I will share the details about the exciting email tomorrow!

It could be perceived as a shoppers dream!

Stay tuned.

Apple Vist: Shit I Have Dipped Into My Pot!

IT'S A LOT MORE SLICKER!

LOOK FORWARD TO YOU VISITING

I'm a keen tweeter and one my followers @ReubenYeah sent me a tweet this morning.

He has recommended a book I might useful for my challenge of touring the UK trying to get a picture taken outside of every Apple Store.

The problem is that I can't spend any of my own money on this experiment. Obviously I managed to auction off the headphones and after shipping and seller fees I have £40 left over.

The book is called Upgrade by a chap called Paul Carr and is essentially a story how of how one man sold his house and used his blagging skills to live a life or luxury!

This is my kind of read! I love true life books which are a little bit whacky and unusual.

I really want to read this book. I'm sure it will come in handy and I guess I could learn something from it right? Or maybe not. Who knows. The problem is its £6.99 on Apple iBooks which is a fair sized dent out of my experiment pot.

That £6.99 could potentially get me a camping pitch somewhere in Aberdeen kid you not! I'm quite used to camping after last years iPhone experiment of mine.

Decisions, decisions. Shall I download the book or shall I keep hold of the money? I'd feel really guilty if I used my own personal money on buying the book as I see it as a training aid for my new experiment and would believe that I have failed before I even started!

My thinking is that Jabbra who gave me the headphones could indirectly help me in my quest in finding some some luxury accommodation and travel.

You know what? Sod it! I'm going to spend some of the proceeds of the headphones on the book.

Hopefully it will get some creative juices flowing and help in my planning!

If you would like to help out or visit me during the our please email me at rob@medlmobile.com

And if you have no idea what I'm talking about click here for a run down on what my Apple Visit experiment is all about!

Until next time!

Apple Visit: Luxury Cardiff Restaurant Park House To Wine And Dine Me!

IT'S A LOT MORE SLICKER!

LOOK FORWARD TO YOU VISITING

I had a rather nice email late last week from a top notch restaurant called Park House in Cardiff, who have invited me for some dinner when I pass through Wales as part of my social media challenge of having a picture taken outside of every Apple Store in the United Kingdom.

I'm going to be clocking up some miles and it will be great to visit them and have a relaxing meal cooked for me.

I've heard they have just appointed a renowned Welsh chef Roger
Jones as a consultant chef. I'm not sure what this means but he is Michelin starred which is the most influential in the catering industry and its star rating is still considered the most simple and yet ruthless method of scoring restaurants.

The Park House club is housed in a grade I listed building is one of
Wales' most notable 19th Century houses: an architectural fairy-tale
nestled in the urban landscape of Cardiff City.

I believe it overlooks the gardens of the National Museum which will be very interesting to see as well.

I've had a quick look at their menu and it looks superb! I will do a full review of my experience at Park House during my experiment!

And if you have just come across my blog for the first time and would like to know what this social media experiment is all about please click here.

Stay tuned!
